There are a number of things I would like to explore and accomplish this year. When I began making jewelry in 2007 I had big eyes for tools, beads, silver and findings. I liken it to going into a candy shop,buying a little of everything and cramming it down as fast as possible. The name of the new earring design is official.  I have worked these up in different beads and I have to say that the Swarovski Crystals and Pearls are the most suited for the design. An unplanned snapshot of the tabby boys, Diego (left) and Charley. Keeping it simple with pins these last few weeks of the year. This pin is called "Plain Jane" replenishing a similar piece that sold this week.  I chose not to repeat the patina dip.  Instead, I pulled out my dusty tumbler and gave it a palmolive bath with steel shot. When the cold weather sets in and the holiday season pumps up I turn my creative energy to other outlets. Yarn projects become my focus for a few months. I taught myself to knit when I was 10. These Diamond Medallion Earrings were an unplanned design idea. I usually sketch my ideas on paper, but for some reason I tried arranging the beads like a puzzle on the bead mat.  Not sure if I just got lucky or I stumbled onto another method of designing a pattern. Before I got started with the usual Saturday chores, I put together Peacock. These earrings have a casual elegance which makes them nice for every day wear. The czech squares coordinate nicely with the green swirly borders. I have to say that Miyuki beads are my favorite and preferred beads.  I rarely having any problems sizing my stitch around the wooden core with this brand.

I made a quick trip to Florida this past week. It was only 32 degrees in the morning rising to high 40's mid-day. Can you guess where I was shopping?  Have you ever seen this famous store front?  I was shopping at one of the world's largest furniture showrooms located in High Point, NC.  Check out this virtual tour. Honestly, I did not have a chocolate craving going when I created Godiva.  I have been trying to include these dark brown glass beads in a design for quite sometime.  As you know, I have been weaving the brass rings with seed beads for the Gypsy series. I am waiting for an order of brass leave caps, so I made a substitution with these glass beads.
