Mixing business with pleasure...

It's taken me a while to post these earrings, but they are just in time for fall wardrobe planning.  Click the links to follow them to my Etsy shop.  These two join the first pair called Zebra stripes. Other than the galvanized silver pair just getting finished, I think I am done with this pattern for now. If I can get it together soon I will put together the tutorial.

Now that business is out of the way, here are few snapshots from my recent travels abroad.

A destination on my bucket list of must see was the Rome colosseum. Like my travels to the Pyramids a fews years ago what counts for me is having my footprint there.

A beautiful view overlooking an inlet in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Experiencing Venice was wonderful and truly memorable, but the number of tourists there distracted me from the beauty. This picture shows a quiet corner of a very busy city. We walked many side alleys just for this reason.

Here is a picture of what it's like on the main canal. We did experience the public transportation system. The boat on the bottom of the picture is the transporation vehicle. It was hectic to get on and off at a stop and the way the boats hit the docks upon arrival was not pleasant. A NYC subway commuter would not be able to nap on the way to work!

You have to love this picture of a gondala operator busy with his smartphone.

The Amalfi coast is so charming I could see myself never tiring of a visit time and time again.

In Sorrento I took in more of the shopping experience. I had sandals made in 10 minutes. You select the sole and then top them with the leather of your choice. We also purchased men's belts and of course I could not come home with a few purses.

We traveled around Corfu, Greece by 4x4. A wonderful way to experience the beauty of the island. This is the road we took up the mountain to visit the hilltop villages. A very narrow passage for two cars with few guard rails.

I got lucky with the lighting for this macro shot of grapes.

An overlook from a beautiful restaurant we stopped at for cappuccino and baklava.

The charm of this fishing village called Portofino is amongst my favorite locations.

Here's a glimpse of the wealth in St. Tropez, France.  The pier was lined with these mediterrean jetsetters. We in turn took to the hilltop villages for the day.

We also took in Pisa and Florence.  Florence is a very big and busy city, but they were both just delightful. The picture in Florence shows you the influx of the tourists.

 The End

  2. What a fantastic post! I've been meaning to catch up with you (sorry it's taken so long) to hear about your trip. What a fantasy...visiting all of these incredible places. I visited most while living in Germany in the 80's, and also during our trip to Italy in 2001...ages ago!! Looks like you created memories to last a lifetime. And sandals in 10 minutes?! Oh, and I bet the food was out of this world! :-)
